Winter Yuzu-Lime Hydration Recipes to Keep You Warm

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that you need to stay hydrated in the winter, but it is just as (if not more) important in the colder months. Especially if you are involved in winter activities, such as snowboarding or winter hiking, you may need to make an extra effort to keep your body filled with essential electrolytes to keep up your energy levels and help you maintain your performance.

Staying hydrated in the winter often gets overlooked because people don’t notice as much when they are sweating when it is cold and your thirst response may be decreased. Many people aren’t as active in the winter so they just don’t think about it in the same way as they do in warm weather.

Another reason to keep hydrated when it’s cold out there is to keep up your immune system health throughout this time of year. Our immune systems rely on specific electrolytes, including sodium, to be able to perform their functions properly and staying hydrated can help your immune system take precautions against seasonal threats.
